New ground for an old guy, learning to blog.
Picked up my keyboard amplifier from Be Music this morning. Always great to see Brian Hobbs, who is a first-class musician with a first-class store. Jeff Poremski had me up and running, all fixed. He and Casey Grant were in my eighth grade music experience class at the old Rutland Junior High School, almost thirty years ago. Time flies.
Played an afternoon trio gig at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center in Guilderland, NY with Woody Strobeck on trombone and Lew Petteys on tenor sax. Mostly Dixieland tunes, including a couple that I’d never played. It’s always a great time to play with these two guys. I’ve known Woody since I was in elementary school and have been playing with Lew for the last two summers in the Glens Falls City Jazz Band under the direction of Dennis Searles.
Back to grading papers. Looking forward to Castleton University’s week-long break. It will be good to have a few uninterrupted days at home.
